Answer:
I heard about the peanut shells on the floor, is that still a thing??
You heard right! Tossing peanut shells on the floor is a quirky tradition at Long Bar. Don't be shy – grab a handful and let 'em fly! It's all part of the fun.

Visited a few weeks ago and had such a great time here! The atmosphere at Long Bar is super unique, classic old school vibes with a cool historical touch. Big shoutout to Jithin, the bartender. He was incredibly friendly and took the time to share the story behind Long Bar and Raffles Hotel. I had no idea the famous Singapore Sling was actually in... see more

If you’re visiting Singapore, Long Bar at Raffles Hotel is a must-visit especially if you’re a cocktail lover or just curious about the iconic Singapore Sling. The bar itself has a charming colonial vibe with vintage decor, rattan fans on the ceiling, and a relaxed, old-school atmosphere that makes you feel like you’ve stepped back in time. It’s t... see more

10 minute wait for the long bar, although it didn't seem unduly crowded when you got in. Very atmospheric as you would expect, had a seat at the bar and had the obligatory Singapore sling and played hunt the nut in the peanut shells. Staff were charming and prices as expected crazily high. A must do and box ticked.

World renowned ‘Singapore sling’ wouldn’t be worth coming to Singapore without visiting the long bar to taste one from where it originated, raffles. The decor of the bar takes you back in time and the atmosphere is one you can’t help but absorb. It’s understated luxurious finishes and customer service that really make this an experience to remembe... see more

Highly recommended especially if you are a big fan of cocktails. The original Singapore Sling is absolutely amazing. The bartenders are so professional and kind. I must say it's a bit overpriced but considering the fact that this place is both historical and authentic, it's worth the price.

You have to visit Raffles when going to Singapore. Interior is nice and great atmosphere. The Singapore sling is very nice, but it is SGD44 each, and it isn’t the largest. Would get there early, we arrived at 5pm and waited about 15 minutes. Lucky to be sat at the bar which was ideal. They aren’t too fussy on dress code at that time either.

An institution that’s worth a visit once, but not somewhere you need to return to. Tossing peanut shells on the floor is a quirky tradition (though apparently a modern invention for tourists), so avoid if you’ve got a peanut allergy. The Singapore Sling is delicious and probably the best I’ve had — but also ridiculously pricey for what it is, which... see more

Didn’t eat here…..well that’s a lie, we ate bags of peanuts!!! Had the traditional Singapore sling, nice, but needed to have a cool beer as the weather was particularly humid that day. An absolute must do if you’re in Singapore.. the last time I was there it was closed for renovations, and wow did they do a great job. A highly recommend bar for a t... see more
