The strudel is very good. Pricing is rather reasonable with three different sizes to choose from. Mango strudel is probably the best so far. Highly recommend for anyone to try.

I went to the petrol station with my uncle. While he was pumping petrol, I went to buy some puffs. I ordered one chocolate & one custard puff, last minute added an apple strudel. When I asked the staff how to make payment, she just told me to “wait” while she packed, so I waited and walked around.

Meanwhile, my uncle paid for his petrol and received two vouchers. The cashier only said “go behind and collect” without explaining what the free item was or where to get it. He eventually figured out it was at the RITZ counter at the back. Even the voucher didn’t indicate what the free item was.

When I gave the vouchers to the lady at the counter, I asked what the free product was. She didn’t answer, just kept packing. After a while, she passed me a receipt and told me to pay. I asked again, and all she said was she’d prepare it and asked me to pay first. After I returned, she placed everything on the counter without any explanation.

I had to ask again which items were the free gifts. She seemed reluctant to respond, and in the end I was left with 4 custard puffs (not mini ones) and 1 strudel. I only wanted two puffs and one strudel, but ended up with more. It would have been so much better if she had simply told me whether the free items could be swapped for the ones I chose, whether I needed to top up, or if I could redeem them on another day.

I bought them on Sunday. On Monday I ate 2 puffs, on Tuesday the other 2, and on Wednesday I forced myself to finish the strude. which by then was mushy and not fresh anymore. I didn’t want to post at first, but then I thought, why am I torturing myself eating stale strudel? Should I have eaten the strudel first and left the puffs to go bad? But the cream puffs wouldn’t have lasted either. Either way something was bound to turn bad, which made the whole experience even more frustrating. What’s worse is, if I really wanted extra puffs, I could have just driven over to buy them fresh instead of being forced to take more than I needed. On top of that, my family doesn’t even eat puffs or strudels, so I ended up having to finish everything myself.

My conclusion: no more RITZ. I’ll just go for McD’s apple pie next time.
