About Hiyaki Yakitori Izakaya Bar

Hiyaki Yakitori Izakaya Bar is an Izakaya-style restaurant located in Outram Park, Singapore, offering a menu of Japanese and Asian cuisine. Inspired by traditional flavors, Hiyaki offers a fresh, creative, and respectful interpretation of Japanese cuisine. Dishes are around $15.

Hiyaki is a fantastic and excellent spot to enjoy drinks and snacks with friends. The ambiance is trendy, the decor is quirky, and the music is great and on point. The food was excellently prepared and wonderfully seasoned. The Yakitori had a nice char and was cooked to perfection. My favorites were the pork wrapped asparagus and the chicken thighs. The potato salad is delicious and tasty and the skewers are excellent and outstanding as well.

Menu highlights include appetizers like Tako Wasabi (raw octopus with wasabi), Ehire (stingray fin with spicy mayo), and Umi Budo (sea grape with wasabi dressing). Grilled skewers feature Torimomo (chicken thigh), Shishito (green pepper), and Tsukune (chicken meatball). Main courses include Crispy Chicken Gyoza, Surume Ika (grilled squid butter with homemade mayo), and Spare Ribs (pork ribs with black pepper). Small plates such as Shirauo Tempura (deep-fried silver fish), Kawa Ebi Age (fried baby shrimp), and Teba Gyoza (stuffed chicken wings) are also available.

Made a reservation for 3 at 630pm, arrived at 626pm to the place relatively empty. Wanted the cushion seats along the wall but was told by Wen Yen they were all reserved. Despite its location, this is certainly one of the Best yakitori izakaya restaurant in Singapore. Food was tastefully prepared, very authentic and efficient service. Solid Izakaya. The food is good quality but don’t go expecting it will knock your socks off due to its high google rating. The staff is very attentive and friendly which I think is what made this a five star place. The food was served super fast and a bit difficult to keep up.
