These sauces, combined with the crispy toasted baguette, cold cuts, and vegetables, create a satisfying sandwich.

Other popular options include Roast Pork No 5 and Salted baked Roast Chicken No 9, providing a range of flavors to explore. Also available is No 2 Special Beef Piper Lolot, featuring ground beef marinated with lemongrass and shallots, wrapped in betel nut leaves.

Choose to dine in, which means enjoying your meal on one of the low stools outside the stall, creating a charmingly authentic atmosphere. It’s a little piece of Vietnam right in the heart of Ang Mo Kio.

The Must-Try Sandwiches

The star of the show is undoubtedly the 'Special Pork Cold Cuts' banh mi. While it may be slightly pricier, the abundance of ingredients justifies every penny. The sandwich is a harmonious blend of various cold cuts, each contributing a unique flavor profile. If pork isn't your preference, don't worry—Banh Mi Saigon also offers shredded chicken and beef options to cater to all tastes.

A Symphony of Flavors

What makes Banh Mi Saigon's sandwiches so irresistible? It's the perfect balance of textures and tastes. The bread is incredibly crispy on the outside, giving way to a soft, airy interior. The cold cuts are generously packed, delivering a burst of savory goodness with every bite. Unlike some banh mi that can be overly spicy or soggy, Banh Mi Saigon strikes the perfect balance, allowing you to savor each ingredient.

Beyond the Banh Mi

While the sandwiches are the main attraction, Banh Mi Saigon also offers a range of Vietnamese drinks. However, keep in mind that these can be a bit pricey compared to the food. If you're looking for a refreshing beverage, consider trying the iced Vietnamese coffee, though be prepared for a sweet treat.

The Story Behind Banh Mi Saigon

Nestled under a HDB block in Ang Mo Kio Ave 8, Banh Mi Saigon is more than just a food stall; it's a culinary legacy. Founded by Ngoc Diep Victoria, who grew up immersed in the flavors of Vietnam, the stall brings authentic family recipes to the Singaporean palate. The Secret to the Perfect Banh Mi

The magic of Banh Mi Saigon lies in the combination of carefully selected ingredients. The cold cuts, made from finely ground pork, are a testament to traditional Vietnamese techniques. The signature Special Great sandwich No 1 features a blend of four distinct cold cuts, each offering a unique taste and texture.

The Sauces That Elevate the Experience

No banh mi is complete without the perfect sauces, and Banh Mi Saigon doesn't disappoint. They offer four delectable sauces that enhance the overall flavor profile: a sweet soy sauce with fish sauce for a hint of umami, a bright yellow mayonnaise made from butter and egg yolk for richness, green scallions in oil for freshness, and homemade pate made from pork liver for depth. Combined with the crispy baguette, cold cuts, and fresh vegetables, these sauces create a truly unforgettable sandwich.

More Than Just Cold Cuts

While the Special Great sandwich No 1 is a must-try, Banh Mi Saigon offers a variety of other options to explore. The Roast Pork No 5 and Salted baked Roast Chicken No 9 are popular choices, each offering a unique twist on the classic banh mi. For those seeking a bolder flavor, the No 2 Special Beef Piper Lolot features ground beef marinated with aromatic lemongrass and shallots, wrapped in betel nut leaves.

You could sprain your jaw trying to wrap your mouth around this beast ! My usual order is the roasted pork banh mi with additional egg and patè toppings. They don't stinge on ingredients here so the end product is a beast with such a wide girth that it takes a couple of bites just to make it across the full width. In addition to the generous portio... see more

Like many have said, the bread was 👍🏼. I kept half of it in the refrigerator for the next day and the bread was still crisp and light unlike others. I liked the fresh herbs on top of the meat but didn’t feel it tasted 100% Vietnamese. Maybe a different part of Vietnam I haven’t been to? I tried their fried one piece banana, the Vietnamese fried m... see more

Banh mi was crispy and fluffy, filled with tender and succulent pork, pho with pork roll was tasty and not too “raw” even with all the veg in it. Thai banana isn’t overly sweet, crispy with sesame fragrant. Thai yam tasted like yam mochi, chewy and addictive snack! Coffee has a strong roasted scent and not too acidic, even better with coconut milk!... see more

For two of us, we definitely over-ordered — 2 bánh mì and 1 Vietnamese spring roll. When I picked up the bánh mì, it was surprisingly heavy! The Vietnamese spring rolls looked almost raw at first glance, but the taste was spot on. The skin looked thin, yet was sturdier than expected. The 3 rolls were stuck together, and I was worried they might te... see more

One of if not the best banh mi i've tried in Singapore. Price is reasonable for the size, bread is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The drink is overly sweet though, give it a miss unless you like sweet drinks.

Bread was toasted to an amazing level. It was crispy outside but chewy inside. That alone was worth the experience. Had the roasted pork banh mi for $9.90. Meat was slightly sweet but also cooked to perfection. A lot of ingredients were packed in the bread giving multiple levels and layers of taste. Not a fan of pate so that ruined it a little. Very generous portion of food at this stall. Bread was crisp, meat well flavoured, Banh Mi was tasty with lots of ingredients. Personally, I really liked the Vietnamese roll. The prawns were huge and fresh and the dipping sauce had a a balanced sweet-tangy flavour that went very well with the ingredients in the roll.

Easily one of the best Banh Mi in Singapore though it still can't match the average roadside ones in Ho Chi Minh City. Fillings are generous, in fact, certain ones really have too much meat and it throws off the balance, like the BM with roasted pork (Singapore-style roast pork). I've tried multiple types and still prefer item 1 on their menu. Be... see more
