Question:
Answer:
Does Lau Pa Sat have vegetarian or vegan options available??
While Lau Pa Sat is known for its meat dishes, you can usually find a few vegetarian options. Look for Indian stalls with vegetarian curries or stalls that offer vegetable stir-fries. Vegan options might be more limited, so it's best to ask the vendors directly about ingredients and preparation methods.

Question:
Answer:
Is there anything besides satay that I should definitely try at Lau Pa Sat??
Oh, absolutely! While the satay is legendary, don't miss out on other hawker delights. Hainanese chicken rice, Hokkien mee, and carrot cake are all excellent choices. Explore the different stalls and let your nose guide you – you won't be disappointed!

Question:
Answer:
I heard Lau Pa Sat gets pretty busy. What's the best time to avoid the crowds??
You heard right! It can get packed, especially during lunch and dinner. For a slightly less crowded experience, try visiting during off-peak hours, like mid-afternoon (2-5 pm) or later in the evening after the main dinner rush (after 9 pm). But hey, the buzz is part of the fun!

What's the vibe like at Lau Pa Sat, and is it a good spot for a casual bite??
Lau Pa Sat, or Telok Ayer Market, is buzzing with energy! It's super popular for after-work hangouts and tourist visits, especially at night when the satay street comes alive. Definitely a go-to for a casual, delicious, and atmospheric Singaporean food experience!

It's my favourite hawker to go to. You can experience a lot of different cuisines at an affordable price range in a stunning building with bells chiming every hour. There's a lot of options, even for vegetarians and most of the portion sizes are very generous. Highly recommend and do check out stalls that have Singaporean food of you want to have a... see more

It’s a great place when you’re a tourist. Yep, the prices are a bit higher than in other hawker centers but here you can be sure that you will be able to pay using a card. Additionally this place has a great location and selection of cuisine. Just be careful during evening, especially when it rains cos this place tends to be crowded and it’s hard t... see more

Today’s lunch crowd wasn’t too heavy during peak hour at 12:30. However, the tables were full of sauce stain and oily. Didn’t notice any cleaner around to wipe the tables. The famous paofan, char keowteow and Hokkien mee taste blunt and below average. Food Standard could have been better according to michelin award. Overall rating is below expectat... see more

Went there twice — once for their chicken rice during lunch and another was for their satay for late dinner. Both really tasted good, and thanks to their late night opening hour, we could fill our stomach after watching the race. The sugarcane also tasted realllly good

I just randomly picked a stall, and suddenly the food turned out to be incredibly amazing. Bear in mind, the stall I chose was non-halal. But there are plenty of halal stalls too. The trays of food for halal and non-halal are kept separate. Definitely coming back to Lau Pa Sat when I visit Singapore again!

My favourite hawker spot in Singapore great for brunch lunch and even better if you wait for satay street to open at 7pm. Great range of food and beverage options. Favourites include the satay stalls and chee fun rice noodle rolls (Michelin rated)

Super popular. The variety of options is great & has a lively atmosphere. Pretty tight spaces, but I think that just adds to the experience. The chicken & rice we had from the main stall was disappointing but the dim sum place was a solid 8/10!

Amazing variety of food and such a lively atmosphere! We went multiple times during our stay and always had a great experience—tried grilled seafood, Korean dishes, Chinese classics, and more. Every time, the food was delicious. The setting is very cozy and comfortable, with a traditional market-style vibe where you simply grab what you want from ... see more
