The Continuum A Journey Through Time celebrates the enduring lineage of Singapore’s ceramic artistry, showcasing the artistic voices of ten Singaporean artists including a respected master ceramicist, Lim Kim Hui. The exhibition delves into the interconnectedness of past, present, and future through the medium of clay. Their creations span generations, offering visitors an intimate glimpse into how clay becomes both a vessel of memory and a medium of transformation. Through this dynamic conversation between past and present, the exhibition highlights the power of mentorship in shaping identity, community, and the creative future.

Lim Kim Hui is an established ceramic artist and well-respected educator in Singapore with over four decades of experience. Since 2004, he has been teaching pottery at schools and organizations across the city including the Japanese Association, inspiring countless students with his deep knowledge and passion for ceramics. He is acclaimed for mastering high-fire ceramics and the rare, challenging iron-glazed tenmoku ware, a technique dating back to the Song dynasty. He developed his own glazes and firing processes, excelling in hand building, wheel throwing, and reduction firing techniques. His signature works feature smoked glazes with a dense charred wood finish, reflecting influences from Chinese, Southeast Asian, and Japanese pottery traditions. His teaching blends technical rigor with creative exploration, encouraging students to discover the endless possibilities of clay, glazes, and firing while embracing the meditative and liberating qualities of pottery. His expertise and mentorship have made him a key figure in nurturing Singapore’s ceramic arts community.

Featured Artists: Bernice Lim, Emily Moh, Goh Kim Joo, Hairol Hossain, Lam Hui Zhen, Lee Li Xian, Leng Soh, Lim Kim Hui, Mok Yee Hui, and Shee Bee Heo.

A nice studio located within the city center and showcasing works of many local talents. Went to 'Chronicles of A Circuit Breaker' exhibition yesterday and loved how content-rich the exhibition is, even including multiple manuscripts of the comic artist. Not my first time to this gallery, but always enjoyed my visit there.

Lovely, cozy gallery near Peranakan Museum. In December 2023, they were showcasing Priscilla Tey’s (talented Singaporean author-illustrator) selected artworks. I like: - that the gallery is “accessible” and the staff made visitors comfortable to look around, some galleries can be daunting - that for Tey’s exhibition, there’s enough variety of artw... see more

Visited the gallery today and viewed the great clay artworks. The staff provided good explanations and informative of the artworks. Will revisit the gallery on my next trip to Singapore to view more greater artworks. If you would like to buy the artwork, don't be shy to ask the price from the staff.
