Formerly known as the Singapore Zoological Gardens or Mandai Zoo, The Singapore Zoo is a 28 hectares (69 acres) zoo located on the perimeter of Upper Seletar Reservoir within Singapore's heavily forested central catchment area. It was built for $9 million granted by the government of Singapore and opened in 1973.
It is operated by the Mandai Wildlife Reserve, which also manages the neighboring River Wonders, the Jurong Bird Park, Night safari, as well as the forthcoming Rainforest Wild Park.

The Jurong Bird Park was a great place to spend a lot of time bird-watching, tree bathing, and spending hours in the trees. The variety of bird species was quite surprising to me. They come from many parts of the globe and they are all healthy. Some of them have amazing colors.
The birds were very friendly and we enjoyed their company. Amazing River Wonders experience. Manatees and Pandas were among the many fascinating creatures that we saw. The park is well-designed with helpful guides.
Particularly recommended for children. It was an educational and enjoyable day. Guide shared with us that all of Mandai would become part the Park Connector Network. It is a great idea William Go Google Review
